New Delhi: Forward of voting on a conviction motion presented by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, lawyers of both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP continued protests at the Delhi assembly, blaming each other for corruption.
AAP MLAs have claimed fraud of 1400 crore INR in 2016 when the Lieutenant Governor was KVIC (Khadi & Village Industries Commission chairman, while BJP’s MLA is requesting the boycotting of ministers Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia over charged corruption.
Last night, lawmakers of both groups directed protests at the Delhi assembly. AAP MLAs scrunched around the Mahatma Gandhi statue at the assembly. BJP MLAs staged their dharna program to close the statues of Raj Guru, Bhagat Singh, and Sukhdev.
Kejriwal called on Monday for a panel vote in the home to assure that all his MLAs are with him. Despite the claims that BJP tries to split his party as on “Operation Lotus”. According to him, it is a plan to dislodge their government in Delhi. He said that he wanted to take the majority trial to confirm that his party’s MLAs are genuine.
Mr. Arvind Kejriwal alleged that the BJP has “purchased” 277 MLAs nowadays to demolish different state governments in the country, including Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, and Goa Maharashtra. According to his statement, the BJP attempted to purchase their lawmakers too, but none of their MLA accepted the offer. Operation Lotus has fallen in Delhi. He said the present central government is the “most corrupt” as it is “simmering” MLAs by taxing the ordinary people.
The CBI today searched Manish Sisodia, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister’s bank locker in connection with a continuing inquiry into alleged anomalies and corruption in Delhi’s liquor policy, which was introduced earlier this year and then rolled back. His home was raided earlier this month. Mr. Sisodia is at top of the list of 15 accused called in the CBI’s FIR on liquor policy violations.
The CBI FIR is founded on a connection from the Lieutenant Governor, who had charged AAP of getting the Excise Policy “with the only aim” of aiding personal liquor tycoons for economic benefits to “people at the loftiest echelons of the state. Mr. Saxena has alleged different differences in the functioning of the Delhi government.
Satyendra Jain, an AAP minister, was captured by the central investigation agency on May 30 beneath the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) overcharged hawala transactions with a Kolkata business in 2015-16. Mr. Jain’s detention, and current CBI attacks on Mr. Sisodia, have started a huge battle of gossip between the BJP and AAP with each hard criticizing the other.
AAP has stated that the 2024 public election is fixed to be a match between Prime Minister Modi and Mr. Kejriwal. It blames the BJP for misapplying central agencies to attempt and prevent the AAP leader due to his growing popularity and “admirable” work in the health and education sector.
The BJP has refused AAP’s blames, blaming it for attempting to divert awareness from the crime in its government. In Mr. Saxena’s defense, the group told AAP leaders were balancing corruption charges against him “to take revenge”.
