The upcoming election in Nepal 2022 is considered to be held in November. Nepal election commission has already begun to manage a tracking system for elections.
The Election Commission has activated a monitoring mechanism set up to monitor compliance with the election code of conduct.
Spokesperson of the Commission Shaligram Sharma Poudel said that the monitoring mechanism has been set up at the center, district, constituency, and local level to monitor the code of conduct on Tuesday.
According to him, all the four mechanisms will be able to monitor and take action in compliance with the code of conduct. As the Chief Electoral Officer and the Returning Officer will be appointed only after April, the Commission has now delegated that authority to the Chief District Officer of each district.
The Commission has set up a tracking mechanism at the central level under the coordination of Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari. The secretaries of the Prime Minister’s Office, Law, Home, and Communications are members of the committee.
The Chairman of the Telecommunication Authority of Nepal is also a member of the committee headed by the Chief Member Secretary of the Law and Political Party Management Division of the Commission. The Commission will also deploy a monitoring team led by a joint secretary-level staff to monitor compliance with the Code of Conduct.
The commission has stated that a district-level code of conduct monitoring committee has been formed in each district under the leadership of the Chief Election Officer. The committee will consist of the Chief District Officer, Election Officers, and the Chief Member of the Police Office, while the Chief of the District Election Office will be the Member Secretary. The constituency level committee to be formed under the coordination of the Returning Officer has not been activated yet.

Similarly, the commission has demanded an explanation from the Unified Socialist Party (USP) within three days to give a satisfactory answer within three days. The organizations have expressed their commitment.
Among the organizations expressing such commitment are Nepal Municipal Association, NGO Federation, Federation of Nepali Journalists, Nepal Teachers Federation, Nepal Professors Association, Nepal Transport National Federation, Private and Residential School Organization Nepal, National Cooperative Bank Limited, National Cooperative Federation, Nepal Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs. , Consumer Interest Protection Forum Nepal, Nepal Advertising Association, and Nepal Bar Association.
