After the recent hike in prices, petrol price in Nepal has raised to Rs 181 per liter. Kerosene and Diesel price has touched Rs. 172 per liter. Nepal Oil Corporation changed prices of Rs 2 in petrol and 9 rupees in kerosene and diesel as well.
At the moment of increasing inflation, again the government decided to give some relief by reducing petroleum product prices. Currently, the petrol price in Nepal is running at 181 rupees per liter. Similarly, diesel price is set at 172 Rupees per liter.
Not only in Nepal but petroleum price volatility is spreading worldwide. Especially in the US, people are shocked to see its increasing graph.

In July 2022 Minister Dilendra Prasad Badu spoke at a press meeting that the government has lowered the prices of petroleum products. The price of petrol was decreased by Rs 20 per liter at that moment. Likewise, the price of diesel has declined by Rs29 per liter.
According to the new report, published by Nepal Oil Corporation, petrol will now cost Rs 181 per liter. Diesel will cost Rs 172 per liter. The government was ordered to cut different taxes charged on petroleum products.
After the most delinquent hike in prices, petrol price in Nepal has crossed up to Rs 180 per liter. Useful petroleum products like Diesel and kerosene price has climbed around to 170 rupees.
According to NOC (Nepal Oil Corporation), the government charges Rs 65.61 in taxes on each liter of petrol traded at Rs199. It organizes Rs49.53 on every liter of diesel traded at Rs192. The administration also keeps Rs 10 as infrastructure tax per liter of petrol and diesel traded.
During Saturday’s meeting held in June 2022, a senior chief of the Nepali Congress Party, Ram Chandra Poudel provoked union leaders to bring immediate movement to maintain the prices of items like petrol, diesel, and kerosene. Because it has begun to take a toll on the public.
The conference was held by Nepali Congress President and Nepal’s Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN head Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), CPN (Unified Socialist) director Madhav Nepal, Upendra Yadav from Janata Samajbadi Party, and Congress senior executive Poudel.
The Kathmandu Post reported on Saturday, July 23 reporting that the meeting was decided to demand the administration cut the petroleum prices to handle inflation and give some relief to the citizens.
