Every year the Queen celebrates her birthday two times; onetime on the anniversary of her (DOB) date of birth, and then likewise with the “official” ceremonial event in June.
Her state birthday in June is usually celebrated with a large-scale public celebration, conducted by the glitzy pageant of Trooping the Colour.
Her true birthday is mainly committed for private celebrations, though is observed by gun salutes in some of the nation’s most famous parks.
The Royal Family’s authorized Twitter account celebrated the occasion by conveying a picture of the Queen aged two.
“Then, in 1928, it was never anticipated she would be Queen, and this year Her Majesty is marking her Platinum Jubilee – a foremost in British history,” the tweet stated.
Royal Windsor Horse Show radiated a new picture of the Queen alongside two of her white dropped ponies taken at Windsor Castle the prior month.

Three gun salutes honor the Queen’s birthday; a 41-gun salute in Hyde Park; a 21-gun salute celebration in Windsor Great Park and a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London.
The Hyde Park & Windsor salutes both starts at noontime. The public is requested to follow both events. Kids at the Windsor event, which carries place on the Extended Walk outside Windsor Castle, may be authorized to fire the ceremonial gun. The Wharf completes slightly an hour before the gun salute, and there is no entry to parts of the Wharf at the time of the set-up and duration of the gun salute. You can purchase Tower of London tickets here.
Why does the Queen have two birthdays?
The pattern of an official monarch’s birthday has been in establishment since 1748, during the rule of King George II.
George’s birthday dropped in November, but he chose to change it so he could celebrate the occasion with a large-scale public festival during the warmer months.
He decided to integrate his celebration with Trooping the Colour, an annual martial parade in the summer.
The Queen originally celebrated her “official” birthday on the second Thursday of June, the exact day as her father, King George VI.
Regardless, she switched it to its present position – the second Saturday of June, in 1959, seven years into her command.
Technically, she has a rare birthday, with some Commonwealth countries observing at different times.
In the bulk of Australia, where the Queen is a leader of the state, there is a public vacation on the second Monday in June, while Western Australia marks in September or October. In New Zealand, it is the foremost Monday in June, and in Canada, it is in May.
