CEO of the company Andy Jassy said that Amazon has no mandatory plans for their corporate staff to visit the office.
Most companies are encouraging return to the office or at slightly going for the combination method of work, e-commerce giant Amazon is probable to continue with its relaxed work-from-home control.
Amazon work from home approach will remain for the close future, the enterprise’s CEO Andy Jassy told the previous week at a meeting, as per a statement.
In a report by CNBC, Jassy spoke at Wednesday’s Code Panel in Los Angeles that the company had no such agendas as to instruct its corporate staff associates who work from home, to reach back to the office.
Jassy told that they don’t have a plan to need staff to come back. They are going to move adaptively as they learn.
On Wednesday, Jassy said that many employees had returned to the office and are working from home on some days of the week. However, he acknowledged that some employees, like those from hardware or creative units, have to return to the office while others, like engineers, can work from home.
In earlier 2020, Amazon notified its tech employees to work from home as the Covid pandemic sprinkled across the globe rapidly. That year, in October, the company said that it will leave up to individual managers how often employees should come to the office, marking a sharp detour from its earlier dream of yielding to a better “office-centric culture.”
“We hope that there will be groups that persist operating mostly remotely, others that will perform some variety of remotely and in the headquarters, and still others that will choose customers are best served to have the team work mostly in the office,” Jassy had written in a memo, according to Reuters.
Adding the statement to CNN, he told that there is no one size suits all strategy for how every crew works best.
Amazon’s work-from-home announcement comes at a time when other companies, like Apple and Google, have mandated employees to work from the office for at least some days of the week.
Last month, tech major Apple Inc asked its employees to come back to the office and work from their designated deputations as Covid-19 wanes, with businesses slowly moving towards the hybrid work mode.
Workers will have to work from posts for at least 3 days a week, the iPhone maker said.
