The leg-spinner batsman had already told the ECB about his plans, after which he has been cleared by the ECB to go on Hajj.
England’s experienced leg-spinner Adil Rashid will not be able to be a part of the T20 and ODI series against India. During this time Rashid is scheduled to go to Mecca for the Haj pilgrimage and the England and Wales Cricket Board board has given him permission for this. Rashid will leave for Saudi Arabia on Saturday, which means he will not be able to play for Yorkshire in the final stages of the T20 Blast.
Rashid informed ESPNcricinfo that he is cosidering to vist on Haj Travel for some days but he was not finding right time for this. He feels something he must do this year so he liked to do.
“I spoke to the ECB and Yorkshire about it and they understood my point. He said that you should do this (Haj pilgrimage). I will be there for a few weeks.” Rashid was part of England’s recently concluded tour of the Netherlands, where his team won the three-match ODI series 3-0.
The 34 year aged leg spinner stated: “It’s a very big moment for me. Each religion has its own thing, but for Islam and as Muslims, the Haj pilgrimage is the most important thing for us.”
