Sri Lanka’s Daily Mirror shared this information, citing the president’s media division. With the imposition of the emergency, the police in Sri Lanka have now got the right to arbitrarily arrest or detain anyone whenever they want.

The trade union is on a countrywide strike on Friday. Most trade unions associated with health, postal, port and other government services be involved in the strike.
