Sri Lanka Economy Crisis: Amid the ongoing economic crisis in Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Friday declared a state of emergency in Sri Lanka, which has been in force since midnight. Sri Lanka’s Daily Mirror shared this information, citing the president’s media division. With the imposition of the emergency, the police in Sri Lanka have now got the right to arbitrarily arrest or detain anyone whenever they want.
The people demanded their resignation.
